How spammers bypass GMail Spam Filters |
There's no doubt that Gmail spam filters are more effective that Hotmail or Yahoo Mail spam guard. Yet junk email senders have discovered a new workaround to fool the GMail spam filter.
As you would have noticed in the screenshot above, spammer's latest trick is to embed the text in an image with a plain background and send the picture as an attachment. GMail will automatically render the image when you open the message.
Spammer succeeds in his mission. Most of this spam has a .ru domain in the sender's address and try to sell Valium.
You cannot create filters as there's no text inside the email message for the filter to work. Only option is the click the Report Spam button - It removes the spam message from the inbox view and sends alerts the GMail team about the message.
